Our Walkers
Cristian Palacios
In the spring of 2003 we met Cristian on one of our walks and began to get to know each other. He had been walking dogs for a year for a large company and though he had grown quite attached to his charges, he was unhappy with the working conditions and some of the corporate policies. At the time, we were considering hiring our first walker to handle our expanding schedule. After discussing the experiment with Cristian (and our clients), we decided to give it a shot, and he’s been with us ever since.
Cristian is a sculptor who hails from Santiago, Chile and happens to have a knack for taming even the most aggressive dogs. Caesar Milan would be impressed. Some of our clients have even commissioned Cristian to handcraft a miniature version of their beloved pet.
As the most senior member of our staff, Cristian’s presence in the field has become invaluable and we are lucky to have him. He is honest, hardworking and truly an integral part of the foundation of Passionate Pet Care.
Renée Burgos
We first met Renée back in the beginning of 2004 while she was in school studying to be a Veterinary Technician. She was working in the neighborhood and it was evident that our dogs loved her, and she them. When we were looking for some part-time help that summer, Renée seemed the perfect fit.
Her intelligence, sense of responsibility and attention to detail, has proven to be a terrific combination for our clients, their owners and us. Renée is still in school and is still a huge pet person, but has found that she also has a major talent in deaf studies. Consequentially, she has changed her major at school and isn’t a regular walker anymore, however, she still does sleepovers and occasional walks when she is in the neighborhood.
Andres Chica
Andres was a Medical Doctor working in the mountains of Colombia, when political unrest forced him to seek a safer place to practice. He moved in with family NY and began the arduous journey of becoming a US resident and licensed physician. A friend introduced us to Andres in the summer of 2004, not long after he arrived. We were looking for a new addition to the family and he was looking for work that would afford him the flexibility to prepare for his board exams.
Being a great lover of exercise and the outdoors, not to mention incredibly gentle and patient with the shy or nervous animals (and people), it seemed a terrific fit; and still is. Years from now when he is a successful Pediatrician, we will miss him an employee, but will always call him a friend.
